Observations on the reproductive biology of Asio clamator in central Argentina

Abstract

We make some contributions to the knowledge of the reproductive biology of Asio clamator, based on five evidences of reproductive events from Córdoba and Santa Fe provinces, Argentina. We found nestlings and one nest with eggs. We described nest and nesting habitats. Nesting habitats were located in disturbed environments with exotic plants. Known clutch size for this species is now of five eggs. The breeding season occurred during summer–autumn and autumn–winter.
