Record of the Yellow-legged Thrush (Turdus flavipes) in the extreme northwest of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Abstract

We present here a record of the Yellow-legged Thrush (Turdus flavipes) in the extreme northwestern Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. The bird was observed in November 2011 in the Turvo State Park, situated on the border of Misiones Province (Argentina). The Yellow-legged Thrush is a threatened species in Argentina; the last record was made over 50 years ago. The record suggests the species may still occur in the Interior Atlantic Forest, even if as a vagrant.
