Abstract
The present paper, although it is an incomplete local list of birds referring to the continental species, provides some interesting records from Puerto Deseado, province of Santa Cruz, not only for being the first findings in that locality, but also because, being pre-Andean species, their geographical range extends notably toward the east. Data are also given on behavior, nesting, egg-laying, and breeding of most of the fifty-six listed species, as a result of the daily observations made by the author himself from July 28 up to December 10, 1961. Also included are the measurements of the collected material, the body weight, and the coloration of iris, legs, and beaks, which were taken immediately after the specimens were captured.
