Abstract
In this paper, I describe and study the differences between the juvenal plumage of some individuals of Buteo nitidus and that of some of Buteo brachyurus. I also show the difference in the relationship of wing and tail length in those species. I describe the differences of coloration and size between R. v. culminatus and R. v. pintoi, and the geographical distribution in the State of Piauí, Brazil, of R. v. ariel, R. v. culminatus, R. v. pintoi, and R. v. theresae. All the birds studied were collected in Brazil.
