Abstract
In a recent revision of the ornithological collection of the Fundación Miguel Lillo of Tucumán, several unknown subspecies were detected, ten of which are described in this paper. The above mentioned subspecies come from the highlands of NW Argentina. Biogeographic characteristics of the areas where the new birds come from are analyzed. Cinclodes olrogi is considered a subspecies of C. fuscus. Asthenes modesta hilereti is revalidated and the current distribution of the races of Asthenes modesta in Argentina is considered.
