I hold a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and a PhD from the University of Konstanz (Germany). I am interested in understanding how and why phenotypic variation among individuals is maintained over time; to this end, I conduct research that integrates questions of behavior, physiology, ecology, and evolution, using wild birds as model organisms. Currently, I direct the Ornithology Laboratory (Uruguay) and serve as editor-in-chief of El Hornero.

Something about me? Simple: I’m passionate about birds. I’m a birdwatcher (eBirder), which recently led me to move to Oceania in search of new adventures. My goal in life is to observe as many bird species as possible and work toward their conservation. While I enjoy fieldwork, my focus is on design, development, and digital innovation for initiatives that have a positive impact on the world.
