Este trabajo analiza los cambios espaciales y estacionales en la distribución de la Monterita Canela (Poospiza ornata), un paseriforme de ambientes áridos del sur de Sudamérica, parcialmente migratorio. A partir de datos de ocurrencia obtenidos de GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) entre 1999 y 2024, se estimaron áreas de distribución mediante envolventes convexas acumulativas, se analizaron desplazamientos de centroides y se evaluaron patrones estacionales. Los resultados mostraron un aumento progresivo del área ocupada (~1.1 millones de km² en 25 años) y un desplazamiento del centroide hacia el este, con una tendencia marginal hacia el norte. Se identificaron diferencias espaciales entre estaciones, con distribuciones más amplias en otoño y primavera, y concentraciones invernales en el núcleo tradicional de la especie. Si bien estas evidencias podrían sugerir una expansión reciente, especialmente hacia el noreste (Uruguay y Paraguay), no es posible afirmar con certeza que se trate de una expansión real, ya que los resultados podrían estar influenciados por el aumento en la cobertura de muestreo, especialmente a partir del crecimiento de plataformas de ciencia ciudadana. Este estudio destaca la importancia de continuar con el monitoreo espacial y temporal de la especie para determinar si estos patrones reflejan desplazamientos esporádicos o un proceso sostenido de expansión de rango impulsado por cambios ecológicos y/o antrópicos.
