Help El Hornero Go Global!

Apply to Join Our Volunteer Translation Team

Are you interested in reviewing translations of scientific articles from Spanish to English in order to strengthen the international visibility of Latin American ornithology?

Aves Argentinas is seeking dedicated and passionate volunteers to help with the English publication of El Hornero, the oldest ornithology journal in the Neotropics.
What is El Hornero? Founded in 1917, El Hornero is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that offers free access for both authors and readers. It publishes original research articles, methodological notes, reviews, and perspectives in ornithology, written in technical and scientific language. With the support of Aves Argentinas and its community, the journal has experienced steady growth in the number of articles and citations, establishing itself as a leading regional reference. Now, our aim is to keep growing!
To expand its international impact, El Hornero is launching bilingual publications in Spanish and English, overcoming language barriers and enhancing global visibility. You can access all past editions online.
