The next special issue of El Hornero, to be published in 2026, will be dedicated to bioacoustics. The general objective is to disseminate novel empirical works that address diverse related topics, such as production of vocal and/or mechanical sounds, and associated mechanisms (physiological, genetic), vocal repertoire, geographic variation, diversity in vocalizations, seasonality, duets, as well as behavioral experiments. Furthermore, it will include reviews, meta-analyses, and/or synthetic evidence works, along with innovative methodologies that contribute to the advancement of the field. El Hornero publishes in English and Spanish.

At this stage, only a preliminary proposal is required—not a final abstract—and submission does not imply acceptance of the work.
