Abstract
In the bird collection of the Museo de Ciencias Naturales de La Plata there is a specimen of Schistochlamys ruficapillus ruficapillus collected by Merkle and Barreto in June 1920 at Tacuru Pucu, Alto Paraná Department, Paraguay. This is the first documented record of this species for Paraguay.
