Abstract
This is the last part of the monograph of the Argentine Woodpeckers published in previous numbers of El Hornero since volume 7, except for part 6, on the genera Celeus, Dryocopus and Phloeoceastes, that appeared in Acta Zoologica Lilloana (18: 183–210, 1962) (a summary of this part is given here). Characters are given for each genus and a description of all the Argentine forms and their geographical distribution; there is also a key for the Argentine forms of Veniliornis.
