Abstract
Rolland's Grebe is abundant and widespread in temperate South America. It is found on both large and small bodies of water and feeds on many kinds of animals, from small invertebrates to fish. Its day-to-day activities resemble those of other grebes. Its courtship patterns include advertising, head-shaking, wing-raising, and a peculiar bumping ceremony. It is best placed in the genus Rollandia, with the flightless species micropterum.
