Abstract

A new genus and species of an anseriform from the family Anatidae — Cayaoa bruneti — is here described. The subfamiliar or tribal relationships of this species are uncertain, but it appears to have a greater relationship with the Tachyerini. Other remains of similar stratigraphical origin (Patagonian Stage), assignable to the same genus, are also described.
