Abstract
The bird-banding in Brazil, its past, present and future is discussed in the paper. The Centro de Estudos de Migrações de Aves (CEMAVE), its organization and level of acting is presented. The bird hunting activity in Brazil will be done with the CEMAVE's background furnished by bird-banding and recovery data on game species. The northern and southern migrants' occurrence, its ecosystem diversity, the evolutionary and distributional patterns of birds in tropical and subtropical zones will be the major factors for the bird-banding development in Brazil
